“My wife and I spent a weekend with Skye learning how to communicate and talk about our hurt. We learned so much about ourselves and each other and we felt connected in a way that we had not felt in a very long time. Definitely worth the money!” ~ T.J.
It is very difficult to commit to counseling once per week for months, and the session often flies by. Sometimes we leave wondering what we actually accomplished in the 50 minute appointment. In response to this concern, I offer the Intensive Weekend, a two-day, eight-hour journey from isolation to connection. It will change what you believe about yourself, your partner, and your relationships.
This weekend will help you understand why you feel the way you do and why you think and do the things you do. It will help you conceptualize why your partner or family members are feeling, thinking, and acting the way they are. You will learn communication patterns you have with yourself and others: those insidious infinity loops of hurtful feelings. You will also learn how to shift away from those unhelpful aspects and move to a communication pattern that is true and helpful for you.
You will have the opportunity to truly feel heard and understood by yourself, your partner, or your family members. You may process your fear, guilt, shame, and pain in a way that won’t start a fight or ignite shock waves of anger and resentment. With me as your advocate and intermediary, we will find a peaceful place from which to explore common ground and find resolution.
The typical Intensive Weekend starts on Saturday at 10:00. I will meet with each person individually until 12:00 then we will break for lunch for one hour. At 1:00, we will reconvene and learn communication skills with ourselves and others. We will end at 3:00 and you will be assigned homework to complete before we meet on Sunday. On Sunday, we will again start our work at 10:00. This is the day we practice healthy communication and process our fears, guilt, shame, and pain. We will stop for a lunch break and meet up again from 1:00-3:00 to finish up anything that feels unresolved. The counseling portion of the weekend is $3,500. Lodging, meals, and other expenses are your responsibility.
